Definition of Class

This position assists in managing daily operations of the Willie Price Lab School. The incumbent coordinates and manages staff scheduling, plans and executes special events, manages student behavior, and serves in the absence of the Director for the department.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Assist in managing daily operations.
  • Serves in the absence of the Director fulfill licensure requirements for operation.
  • Coordinates and manages scheduling for staff, student workers, and graduate assistants as necessary to meet the needs of the department.
  • Monitors and manages student behavioral issues as they arise.
  • Facilitates communication between the school and parents.
  • Provides guidance and supervision of staff members.
  • Maintains and enforces NAEYC accreditation criteria.
  • Oversees compliance with local, state, and federal licensing regulations.
  • Executes the planning and organization of special events including fundraising, staff training, and open house.
  • Assists in facilitating communication efforts between Willie Price Lab School and parents for general program information.
  • Manages departmental social media accounts.
  • Creates and disseminates communication for special events.
  • Manage the organization enrollment documents and materials for new and returning students.
  • Assists in the enrollment and selection process for upcoming school years.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Assists in managing daily operations of the department.
  2. Coordinates and manages staff scheduling.
  3. Plans and executes special events.
  4. Serves in the absence of the Director.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Bachelor s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related education field from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Certification/Licensure:
Must hold a Director Designee Certificate from MS Department of Health Childcare Licensing.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
