Assistant Director of Fraternal Leadership and Learning (IFC Advisor)

Definition of Class

This position provides guidance and leadership related to programming, assessment, and other administrative duties for the Interfraternity Council. The incumbent develops programs to enhance student fraternal leadership and learning, provides guidance and supervision to staff members, leads assessment initiatives, and serves as a liaison to various university committees.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and direction for staff members.

  • Develops programs to enhance student fraternal leadership and learning.

  • Creates, reviews, and evaluates educational programming to strengthen and support the fraternity and sorority community.

  • Monitors assigned departmental budget while determining the appropriate use of funds.

  • Negotiates departmental contracts for activities and programs.

  • Designs, implements, and assesses risk reduction initiatives.

  • Provides direction in policy creation and implementation for the department related to risk management, facility management, and new member education.

  • Leads assessment initiatives and data management for the department.

  • Develops learning and leadership initiatives for staff.

  • Manages data collection and oversees the distribution of reports.

  • Serves as a liaison to various university committees.

  • Assists the Director in developing, implementing, and assessing departmental goals and objectives.

  • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Provides guidance and leadership related to programming, assessment, and administrative duties.

  2. Develops programs to enhance student fraternal leadership and learning.

  3. Assists in the development, implementation, and assessment of departmental goals and objectives.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.




Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.


Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
